Utility of Shower Valves: Way to Rejuvenate
Shower valve is the most important part of the shower which controls the temperature and flow of water. It is responsible for getting the right mix of warm and cold water by using heat control mechanism, combination of diverters and flow control. Hence these three components play the most important role in the functioning of a shower valve.
The function of temperature control
Generally shower valves consist of a single temperature control. The temperature control works by maintaining the proportion of the mixture of hot and cold water which then allows the temperature control of the shower valve to control the temperature of the resultant mixture of hot and cold water. After controlling the temperature of the mixed water, the shower valve then controls the flow and directs the water to the overhead shower, body jets, slider rail etc.
The function of diverters
The diverter is only a switch which is used to direct the mixture of hot and cold water in the shower valve to one of the valve outlets. Shower valves may consist of more than one or two shower outlets where the water supply is controlled by the diverter switches.
The function of flow controls
The flow control in a shower valve is a simple valve which can be controlled by a handle or lever fitted with the valve. Its main function is to regulate and to control the rate of flow of the previously mixed water through a single valve outlet to a single shower function.
The two kinds of shower valves available in the market are the the thermostatic kind and the manual one. The beat feature about thermostatic shower valves are, they come with an anti-injury mechanism by which it possesses the power to disallow the flow of water if the temperature of the mixed water, by any chance, exceeds the value of the predetermined temperature. Nowadays, concealed or exposed shower valves can also be used in the bathroom. In a concealed shower valve, the pipe work associated with it is fitted inside the wall whereas in case of exposed shower valves, the pipe work with the outlets remains visible.
